A message from Richard:

“I would like to thank everyone who voted for me and for the Liberal Democrats on Thursday. I’m proud that 6,883 of you voted for me and for the Liberal Democrats and I’m very pleased that is nearly two thousand people more than chose the party in 2005.

I will continue to campaign for fair taxes, for a fair start for our children, for a fair chance for our economy and for a fair deal for our politics and once again, I would like to thank those who voted for me.”

Richard Gadsden, 37, has been campaigning across North-West England for a fairer politics and better public services for more than half his life. He is a committed member of crossparty campaigns against ID cards and for better and fairer politics and has recently helped steer a parliamentary campaign on fairer access to the internet.

Richard, a computer programmer in nearby Manchester, says “I understand the issues this large and varied constituency faces, and I firmly believe that Liberal Democrat policies will benefit residents from Barton to Cadishead and from Little Hulton to Worsley”
